Welcome! This is a unofficial website for the Fork Union Track team. I will do my best, after every meet I attend, to update the photo gallery. My intention is to have any and all pictures of the cadets in and out of the events, so the friends and family can see and download free of charge. I only ask that
you support these athletes and the program throughout the season.
In addition, I have photo sections set up for other Va. Independent Schools.
Parents feel free to browse and download any item you want. If these photos are redistributed or published in any
manner, permission can only be granted by myself. Please email your
request to the address at the bottom of this page. Provided details: who
is requesting, reason, publication, file size needed etc.
Additional photos can be purchased at
Outdoor Action Photo hosted by Class V Inc. Select "Events Proof"
to view pictures from a specific event. Special request can be made to the
email at the bottom of this page.

FLEENOR
Elger N. Fleenor Jr., "Doc," passed away to the Lord on November 20, 2006. Our
dad, "Doc," as he became known to his friends, was born December 30, 1924, in
Big Moccasin, Scott County, Virginia, seventh generation of German pioneers to
Southwest Virginia. He was the seventh child of Elger N. Fleenor and Natalie
Fletcher. A Purple Heart recipient, Doc proudly served in WWII with the 3rd
Marine Division as a Navy Corpsman and endeared himself to the Marines. He
served two and-a-half years including Guam, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima. A reserved
person, he loved to share his experiences only later in life if asked. Doc took
advantage of the GI Bill and graduated with a degree in Economics from Emory and
Henry College in Virginia, enjoying the camaraderie of his college mates that he
maintained throughout his life. Doc worked for the Comptroller of the Currency
of the U.S. Treasury Department for 33 years as a National Bank Examiner, as
well as Director of Corporate Affairs for the Comptroller in Richmond, a
department he helped develop. He continued to serve in the expertise of banking
with his own consulting firm for 10 years to which he catered to smaller banks
in the Mid-Atlantic area and also consulted with the Comptroller of the Currency
in Washington, D.C., teaching courses throughout the U.S. Dad loved his work
with the Comptroller and earned the respect throughout the East Coast with his
honest and well-versed knowledge of banking. While examining a bank in
Clarksburg, W.Va., in 1952, he met our mom, Emma Lou Crawley, to whom he was
married for 54 years. They started their new life in D.C., and then Charlotte
and finally Richmond. Doc and Emma had five children. Doc served with the Boy
Scouts of America as an Assistant Leader and volunteered with the Granite Swim
Team as co-announcer. Dad and mom supported the successful cross country and
track teams of Monacan, Fork Union, UGa., GMU and VCU with their many travels to
meets in the East over the years. Doc is survived by his wife, Emma; and all
five of his children, Eric, Carl and fiancée, Diane, Denise Fleenor-Spenik and
husband, John, Neal and wife, Ellen, and David; grandchildren, Erica, Kyle,
Alexandra, Abigail, Chelsea, and Atonio. Semper Fi, Dad! (Written by
Denise Fleenor-Spenik)
